If you're a regular poster I'll bet you spend many more hours. Take a break. Step away from your computer. Volunteer for an hour at the Maplewood May Fest on May 3rd at Maplecrest Park from noon - 5 PM. This is a great day. Last year we had over 2000 people. All the events are free for both kids and adults. These include music (Nightmares, Cucumbers, Maplewood Ad Hoc Jazz Band, a gospel choir), block party-type games (egg toss, limbo, crazy clothes relay, sack race, etc.) HR hitting contest for adults, DUNK-THE-TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBER (!), and on and on. Over 50 vendors. Food. Great fun and wonderful spirit. We need volunteers to help out. Give an hour. If you do and don't have a great time...well, er, you won't have to do it next year. I promise you it will be more rewarding than arguing for or against the war, the cell tower, the B&B, etc. If you don't want to volunteer but would like to make a donation I promise you the money will go towards the event...more balloons, cotton candy, popcorn, bouncy things.
