I know Motion does not accept infants under 6 mos. I don't think any fitness clubs do, because of the ratio of infant: caregiver needed for licensing. If you have a newborn and no babysitter (as was my situation last spring) I think the only solution nearby is the Springfield or the Summit YMCA. They have childcare on site and it's included in family membership. Summit is farther and has more offerings as far as classes and babysitting hours. Springfield is not too far and is not crowded. Both are more reasonable for a family membership than most health clubs. Here is a link: summitareaymca.org

The Connection in Summit isn't bad and has day care, but I'm not sure if it runs to newborns.

The JCC in West Orange offers these services as well.

I second the YMCA. They do except infants and are wonderful!! The Springfield YMCA has shorter hours for the babysitting, but they are not as crowded as Summit. I brought my infant daughter when she was six weeks old to both Summit and Springfield and they were AMAZING with her. She now loves babysitting so much she will wiggle out of my arms to go give them hugs. The price is right for both Ys. If you join Springfield, your children can still participate at the Summit YMCA children programs.

Motion now accepts babies who are 3 months old.
