Anyone use those things? I have a few small "supermarket" dings that I would love to get out of the car.

Thanks

Those companies' repairs may not work, but Novus Windshield Repair, which is franchised all over the place, does. Check the yellow pages.

Jem,

Does a windshield repair company fix dings in the car's body?

I doubt it. From what I know of Novus, their product is an epoxy that's injected and dries clear in a windshield, so that wouldn't translate too well to the auto body. So, oops, guess I was thinking windshield dings, not body dings. Sorry.

Those 19.99 and 29.99 do-it-yourself "dent kings" will do almost nothing. However -- the legit franchises -- the service is amazing. Dings, dents, etc -- can be restored without paintwork -- much worse ones than you'd imagine.

Have not used one up here before (but sadly, the winter brought 2 dings to my new car -- so I'll be going soon). Have looked already -- the nearest franchised location to us in JMK BMW-Saab body shop.

Good luck!

Before you use a product on your windshield, check with your insurance company. If there is a ding smaller than a quarter, sometimes they will pay to have it fixed by an authorized glass person to prevent a costly windshield repair later. We had this done years ago on our truck & the hole has never grown.

OK LET ME JUST JUMP IN HERE ....MY FATHER IN LAW (AGAINST MY ADVISE) BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE "DING KING" PACKAGES AND TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT WORK BUT NOW HE HAS 2 NEW DINGS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDES OF HIS OLD DING...MY SUGGESTION TO YOU AND THIS IS FROM EXPERIENCE..."PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR" OR I THINK ITS CALLED DENT WIZARD. MY DETAIL GUY DOES IT AND IT WORKS GREAT...THEY BASICALLY RUB OUT THE DENT ..HE CHARGES ABOUT $125 PER PANEL ...IF YOU LOOK IT UP ON THE WEB ("PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR") I'M SURE YOU'LL FIND A PLACE NEAR YOU...BUT PLEASE PLEASE ,IF YOU LIKE YOUR CAR, DON'T BUY DENT KING.

Our car dealership arranged to have PDR come to their shop to rub out a few small dents in the doors. They go behind the metal and roll it until it's smooth. The dents came out pretty well, certainly better than it was.

That thing they sell on TV works about as well as those vibrating pads that make you lose weight while you eat a double cheeseburger. right :-(

I think Inaz has a ding in his/her CAPS LOCK key. Either that or he/she JUST LIKES SHOUTING A LOT AND MAKING POSTS THAT ARE PAINFUL TO READ.
