Any reccommendations on asbestos removal from pipes in the bsmt? |

As long as the asbestos is intact, you should just leave it alone. Even if the asbestos is beginning to flake or crack,it may be safer to encapulate it than to try removing it. |

I think that the homeowner is the only one who can encapsulate asbestos, contractors have to remove and properly dispose of it. |

Contractors can encapsulate or enclose ACM if it is intact, but if you are paying big bucks you might as well remove it and never have to deal with it again. Also documentation of abatement is important when selling your house. If it is in good condition and you do not expect to disturb it, you could leave it there.
