We are new to SO/MA and are looking for child care for an infant for the Fall. We are open to in-home or daycare centers. Does anyone have any good recommendations? |

I think the best daycare in the area is the South Mountain YMCA. In the fall my son will have been there for 4 years, he started with them at 3 months. We have been very happy with the staff and have had no staff turnover and a very healthy happy boy. Their hours and location are convenient for train commuters and my family has made lots of friends (kids and adults) at the Y. They start new classes in the fall so that is the best time to enter your child. The Director is Marie and the # is 762-0860. Take a tour and put your name on the waiting list. |

I second the Y! It has been the single best experience we have had since living in Maplewood. Our 2 1/2 year old is extremely happy, has tons of frieds and we have made some great friends there too. We are expecting our second and cannot wait to get him/her in there too! However, I will caution you that the fall is probably closed for new enrollments as there has been a huge baby boom in town. You should definitely call Marie and get on the list though. I know several people who used alternate daycare until they could get into the Y. It is a really popular place so the list tends to be long. Good luck! |

We've also been very happy with the Y for our 20 month old and 4 year old and agree with all that's been said above, including that you should waste no time in calling. |

We've used a great family daycare for both my kids. I don't know if she has space for an infant in the fall or not, but privateline me and I can give you the info. |

We use Discovery and have been absolutely delighted. They are very flexible, great with the kids and our daughter adores her teacher and classmates. |
