I need some advice.... I live on at the Raine Gardens Condos at 378 Valley Street. It appears that all other areas on Valley Street in our neighborhood BUT the area right in front of our property have signs up that say '2-hour parking'. I was wondering if the 2-hour parking also applies to the area in front of our property? There is an HVAC contractor that moved in next store a few years ago that parks their entire fleet of vans and trucks on the street every day making it very dangerous and difficult for us to pull out of our driveway because we can't see oncoming traffic. Many times they end up leaving some of the vans or trucks there the entire day - sometimes for several days and nights - despite the contractor having a parking lot on the rear of their property that appears 1/2 full. I have only witnessed tickets being issued one time in the past 3 years or so to all the cars/trucks/vans that continually park on the street all day, which leads me to believe that it IS 2-hour parking in front of our building. Any idea who should I contact to find out how to deal with this problem? I've called the police about trucks that are out there for 4-5 days, but have gotten no results.

Call the parking authority. They should help you out. For the record, we have cars parked on our block 24-7 365 inspite of the 2 hr parking sign. They get tickets however it does nothing to detur the problem. And no one tows. Bummer. |

I agree with growler (call the parking authority). If that doesn't work, you can work with the trustees on possibly changing the ordinances. I had a friend who lived in Raines Gardens and I know how hard that turn out of the lot is, even when you have visibility. It is a recipe for an accident. www.opensouthorange.com Vote Line B on May 13th
