Hey, Nancy, I though my posts here were funny. I have 100 others on serious issues, though.

BTW, last night campaign manager Roz Diamond stopped by the house on Scotland and explained the rules on one sign per property. The owner was a delight and agreed to follow the rules for the duration. Now, if I can just figure out how to hold on to the sign on Valley Street that keeps disappearing...

Now there's a lawn sign game for you. Looks familiar. Where have I seen that before? ;-)

How's this for irony: On another thread, I had complained about a house on my street that is in complete disrepair. It has been in this condition for at least four years. Last week John Gross called me to assure me that something would be done. Yesterday, a LWV with vision sign was placed on the front lawn, I'm sure because the house looks deserted, even though people are living in it. I saw the sign being placed.

Incidentally, the house I'm referring to and my house are basically the same; if anything, the other house was a little better, at least six years ago when I filed my tax appeal. My house is assessesd more than $100,000 more than the other house. Even in its present condition, the assessed values should not be more that $100,000 apart. Ths translates into a $5000/yr. difference.

doublea: That is pretty ironic. For the most part when we get a lawn sign request, we just send a volunteer to put it up. I don't really pay attention to the addresses. I guess it went up after I drove by last week. Maybe it is one of the ones that somehow disappeared.
Thre is still someone living there because I did check on the property and asked that the village follow through regarding the condition. I also discussed the house with another neighbor about the condition.
I promise you that I did not forget and we are going to do something about getting them to consistently maintain the property.

Mark: Thank you. I know you pursued the matter after I spoke to you, which no doubt resulted in the calls I received from code enforcement and John Gross. At this late stage of the campaign I really had no desire to stir things up but the irony was just to good not to share.

Hey line A and line B ~ after the election, what are you doing with you old lawn signs? Maybe I can recycle them (at least the wire frames) for my campaign in Maplewood?

Ed: Feel free to take all the wires and the lawn signs. I do suggest that you find out who designed the line B signs and use him for yours.

Tradition has it that the losing ticket takes down all the lawn sign.

mrosner

Thanks for your advice ~ I think.

By the way, it is too late for me to Vote either Line A or Line B as your tag line is still suggesting, plus the technicality that I live in Maplewood.
