Does anyone have suggestions for drop-in day care in the area? I'm looking for a backup in case my babysitter falls ill and can't make it to work, or a place to take my son for couple of hours when running errands, etc. He is 20 months. Thanks |

I'm sorry to say it is near impossible to find this Holy Grail of child care. All you can hope for is great friends, neighbors or extended family members. |

Christ Church in Short Hills has a drop-in day care run by a woman named Peggy Fern. My son went there starting at 15 months. It worked very well for us. You pay an annual fee (I believe it was $30, but this was a while ago) and then pay an hourly fee (about $6 or $7 per hour, I believe). You can sign up for regular hours or as needed. The only catch is that they are not open in the summer. |

FYI, it is now $8 an hour at Christ Church, and they have a three-hour minimum. |

Thank you, I'm definitely going to check into them! |
