We're so anxious to get a puppy and need someone to let him out during the day while we're at work. We moved from NYC and know there are services there, but not sure if they migrated out to Maplewood as well. Can anyone recommend a service or is there anyone out there in this line of service?

Thank you!

Although we haven't used them, there's Preferred Pet Care in West Orange. They're an advertiser on this board, and apparently they offer day care, boarding, and walking services.

Hope this helps.

We use Warren Keller (973)313-0139 to walk, feed, etc. our dog when we're on vacation. He also walks dogs during the day for commuters. We highly recommend him. Great with dogs; very responsible.

Does anyone know of any other responsible local dog sitters? Warren Keller appears to be gone on extended vacation and, at $45 a night, Preferred Pet is out of reach?

Thanks

If you haven't already found someone to care for your dog, www.petsit.com will help you locate a sitter in your area. Just type in your zip code and there will be petsitting services who come to your area. Hope this will help.

We have a dog walker that I would absolutely refer. In fact we call her our Nanny for our dog. She is very reliable. She is based out of Milburn/Short Hills and has a few dogs in Maplewood. The company is called Barks and Purrs. She has recommendations from Milburn Veterinary Hospital as well. She walks our dog 5 days a week, for about 30-45mins. She is good with training and housebreaking too. She has been doing it for 10 or 15 years I think.

If you want me to pass along your contact information I will. Let me know.

I'm sure this post is old but I am a sophomore at Columbia High School who is proud to announce that next spring will be my 10th year of petsitting. I would be more that happy to assist you with any petsitting problems you may have. I have numerous references and give you a warm welcome to our community. I will be away for the summer months but if you would like to leave me an e-mail write to SSCHIPMUNK@aol.com

Littlebirde,

I would like ot know more about the dog walker you use. I plan to go away for a few days with my family and don't feel very comfortable with strangers and my dog, but my wife will disown me if we don't have a short family vacation because I don't want to leave the dog with anyone. Can you please have this person email me at prod_dave@hotmail.com

Thank you.
