Here I sit on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, with, one might think, nothing to do but ponder past posts on MOL.

One past post, the poster of whom I do not recall, took me to task for calling Bill Calabrese "Billy". It has rubbed me raw since reading it. So I'd like to respond.

I do not recall anyone, including the poster of my "Billy" criticism, criticizing Ed Matthews - a paid Village employee - for his derogatory use of SORE for SOAR.

Since SOAR represents a great many residents of South Orange who have been and continue to be concerned about various aspects of official South Orange and employee behavior, including treatment of residents at Trustee meetings, by Village personnel, and the state and progress of redevelopment, calling these people SORE is clearly an attempt to belittle them and demean their cause.

Do two wrongs make a right? Not usually. But since I am a firm believer in an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, it might even be appropriate to start calling Mark Marky and Edwin Edwiny. Unless, of course, those of you who so protest against "Billy" can get Edwiny and others to stop calling South Orange residents with legitimiate differences names.
