I thought for sure Clay would win. What did you think? Let's see if this goes anywhere. |

My critique......Obviously, the public (ha! yeah right) chose image over talent. Clay's voice was far superior. Even the girl who was in third who was voted out was better than Ruben. Some may have seen him as a cuddly teddy bear but I saw him as just fat and sweaty. |

I agree.....Clay's voice is far superior to Ruben's. Some say Ruben sang from the heart and Clay's delivery was too "packaged". Looks like both will get a record contract and a good deal of publicity, so time will tell who's talent is more enduring. Personally, I'd buy Clay's records over Ruben's. |

Granted Clay's got a great voice but I see him on Broadway or singing giant dramatic theme songs for Disney movies not as a pop star. The real American Idol should have been Kimberley Locke (#3). |

Frenchie would have won if she wasn't disqualified. Kimerley Locke tended to oversing, or sing in a key too low for her. She also had pitch problems. Clay's voice is amazing, but he is more suited for theater or Vegas. Reuben's voice has a Luther like quality. He could certainly have a successful R&B career. I think the right choice was made..RUEBEN!

Who wouldn't love a Reuben? Hot Corned Beef, Melted Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut on 2 Pieces of Rye Bread!!! On the other hand have any of you ever eaten Clay?

I think Rueben was sweaty thinking about what happened to Luther V and Barry White recently. |

I had my money on Rueben from the final 12 (or was it 10). Clay had a pretty voice but bo-ring. Seems like a real nice kid though. It probably has more to do with the type of music you like and the type of voice you like. They both have talent but I'd rather hear a big bass/baritone singing Motown than a little tenor singing show tunes. WHAT AM I DOING WRITING ABOUT AMERICAN IDOL ON MOL????!!!! HOW SAD IS MY LIFE? |

Forget American Idol. Did anyone watch Fame last night on NBC? There was a lot of talent on that stage! |

Um...and call me catty, but what is up with Joey Fatone? He seems like 10 years older than the other boys in *NSYNC. |

I think American Idol was only moderately interesting on the first go round. Couldn't get into it this time or any time in the future. Amazing Race on the other hand ..... |

I'm a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to this reality TV stuff. I like to think that I'm "above" it but certain shows, I really have gotten into. They're so bad...but oh so good. By accident last week, I watched that Supermodel show on Channel 9 (I think) with Tyra Banks. It's the worst! Great for a laugh. There is a girl on it that is clearly not going to win, but she rips into all the girls in the confessional scenes. Greeneyes: That is hilarious!!! |

Oh no! I did indeed catch it. It was pretty educational for me since I never really knew exactly what was involved in the process. Count me out! |
