Hi all,

I have loved my time here on MOL, and have long lamented the fact that Millburn / Short Hills has no corresponding "fun" site.

Well, after procrastating for years, I am pleased to announce Millburn / Short Hills Online, available at
http://www.millburnweb.com

Message board, real-time weather, events calendar, movie listings, and more. I hope to get the people of MSH to use the site to converse about issues near and dear to our town, exchange gossip and slander, etc.

(Plus, it was a great excuse to learn Microsoft's new ASP.NET technology, and delve into Web Services, XML and SOAP technologies.)

This site is brand new, and may have a few growing pains. I am open to suggestions on how to make it better.

Thanks to Dave Ross for giving me the inspiration to do this project.

Nice job. It looks like a good framework. I hope it prospers as much as MOL, and you have the same wonderful headaches that Dave and Jamie face.

Yeah, building it is one thing. Next challenge is letting everyone know. I started out going door to door to all of the businesses, handing out fliers and advertising in the News-Record a few times when starting Maplewood Online. It just takes time to build a following.

I actually have a Millburn site too, just haven't assembled all of my resources in promoting it:

Jamie,

My password doesn't work at the Millburn site... Do I need a new one?

BTW, Libby and I had a great time in Hoboken last night. You were great "Funny Man"!

Art,

Thanks for coming out - it was a fun night. The other message board doesn't require a username and password at the moment, nor can you register for one at the moment. The type of message board we use here requires a fee which gives us the capability to register users. I haven't made the investment yet for Millburn (dash) Online.

Thanks Jamie, BTW, if you need any help please let me know...

I support every town in America having a B&B, and its own MOL!
