Hi all,
For those of you with toddlers (3 years old and under)...what parks do you go to? So far we've gone to Grove St and the park off South Orange Avenue with the pond...and most of the other children are bigger and wilder than my 2 year old. He gets so intimidated that all he does is play in the dirt by himself. Brookdale Park in Bloomfield has a special toddlers playarea and I'm looking for something like that locally. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

The little park off S. Ridgewood Rd in SO is perfect for toddlers. We've also gone to:
Millburn - back of Taylor Park - not sure what the street name is?
Maplewood - little park off DeHart Ave

The really cool one that's further is in Watchung Reserve, or one after you cross Rte 22 on Meisel Ave - you'd need to look on a map or get someone with a better memory to tell me where this one is exactly.

My son and all his friends (all under 3) play at the park in town on Valley and sometimes at the Maplecrest Park off Springfield ave. Both are very toddler-friendly albeit crowded. Maplecrest Park tends to be a little quieter but the park in town fills up very quickly on the weekends and in the evenings.

We love the "choo choo train" park in Summit. It's perfect for little kids. There's a wooden train that the kids all "ride" in plus regular playground stuff, and lots of picnic tables right in front. It's right in downtown Summit across from the train station near the YMCA.

Taylor Park is off of Main Ave in Millburn. It is a great park, it is fenced in and they have a small size playground for the little ones to clim on.

Orchard park is the little park off S. Ridgewood Avenue. It's on De Hart Road (going from Millburn towards S. Orange on Ridgewood, turn right about 3 blocks past Jefferson...if you get to Milk Money you went too far). My kids love it, they call it "the secret park."
