Looking for a technophile in possession of a DVD recorder(or PC-based TV recorder). I'm going to appear on Jeopardy next month and would like to have a DVD of my shows made for posterity. I would supply recordable DVDs and my undying gratitude. | ||

No they won't.......and I asked (actually I begged). Shortly after I taped in February my 95 year old grandmother, a rabid Jeopardy fan, became very ill and I was afraid she wasn't going to be around for the air date in June, so I called Sony to see if they would give me a tape. Their response was that they don't give out copies of game show tapes before air date under any circumstances. My grandmother died in March w/o seeing the shows, so I'm still more than a little peeved at Sony. | ||

Whn I was on Jeopardy! a zillion years ago, I had a J-Party the night of the airing. All my friends set their vcrs to record and I must have had a dozen copies of the tape to share and rerecord. Why don't you just tape the show and then bring the tape to Village Camera and ask them to transfer it to dvd? Hope you had as much fun in California taping as I did. It seem to me that SO/M has had more than its share of contestants on this show, at least one a season. Maybe we should all get together and compare war stories. Might be fun. canismajor Im sorry about your grandmother but you have to understand Sony's position. They cannot really release a show before air date, especially with the available replication technology. Once not too long ago it would not have made that much of a difference, but now it could actually have an effect. |
