There is currently a message thread going on in the message board at http://www.millburnweb.com. A young man has been complaining about the treatment that the Millburn police have been giving him and his friends. Before I chime in with my big mouth, I wanted to doing a brief comparison and see how Maplewood cops treat youngsters in two regards:

1) What do they do with the kids who hang out at the old bank that is at the corner by the movie theater? (ie: the kids clog the street)

2) What has been done at CHS and the middle school with kids who have worn studded leather bracelets (ie: the punk look)? Apparently there is an ordinance in NJ which prohibits people from wearing leather that has embedded metal in it. Millburn schools were unaware of this law, but the police were aware... hence a conflict arose.

Thanks,

Marc

No leather with embedded metal? How on earth is that enforcible? Can my dog wear leather with embedded metal? I guess I have to take my belt off now too.
