A disappointing end to a good season and a great play-off run. What happened to the offense in the 4th quarter? I believe that Jason Kidd will be back next year (It's about the dollars, stupid)and the Nets should be back in the play-offs ... That doesn't make tonight's performance any easier to swallow ...

Chris,

I was at the game Friday night and like last night and game 4, they had 3 games in a row that they could have won if not for one truly horrid quarter of play...of course, one has to play for four quarters but in all three games they had a stretch where they looked so out of sync and as if they didnt want to be out on the court. Its too bad..theyre a good team to watch. Of course, at the game Friday, one couldnt tell there were fans there for a Finals game...a weaker display from the fans than from the team. And although Uncle Junior did a nice job with the National Anthem, cant we do any better than Joe Piscopo introducing the players and the Moving Out Band from the Broadway show doing half time entertainment? I dont go to the game for the entertainment, but does the entertainment have to be so parmagiano?

Hank:

I think you're on to something ... What if we got the rule changed to make the games only THREE QUARTERS! The Nets would be a dynasty! Jason Kidd said that they lost their composure, got rattled. No! A 19-0 run! As for the half-time stuff, the NBA needs to let that go. They are not the Super Bowl. KC and The Sunshine Band?! Yeez.

Truth be told, I am no longer sold on the idea of getting Kidd "at all costs". I like the rest of the nucleus (Martin, Jefferson, et al) and maybe we'd be OK without Jason ... Plus, I want to smack his wife ... Oops. I did it again.

Chris,

I cant advocate that sort of treatment for Mrs. Kidd, but to add fuel to your fire, I was sitting near her at Friday night's game, and when leaving the arena, she had her four year old son signing autographs (his name being TJ, he had a pretty easy go of it). I dont know who needed their heads examined more...her, for allowing it, or the idiots asking for his autograph. The kid didnt seem to be favoring the shoulder when signing/initialing.
