We are going on a longish car trip and are thinking it might be less unpleasant if we mezmerise the kids with movies. Anyone know of a place around here where you can rent those protable DVD players with the litte screens? Thanks |

There used to be a place in Penn Station (NY), and I know they are in Newark airport in the terminals. But with the price of these units so low now (last week under $300 at Best Buy) -- a rental of more than just a few days might not be economical. Do you have a laptop that you can put a DVD or DVD/RW drive in? Might cost about the same, and would be useful for other things, too. Yes, I'm thinking about the same for the vacation drive in August! Pete |

Try inmotionpictures.com. They rent players and dvds and will ship directly to your home. We rented one for a flight to SF and then used it in the car when we were there. It was a lifesaver. |

Holy cow! What's wrong with just making your kids sit there and learn how to be bored?! Sing songs? Car games? Books on tape are a good option. But really, TV in your car? That's a cryin shame. |
