Help! My husband is beset by one weird allergic reaction after another. We're relatively new here and would love to have a name of a good allergist. Many thanks.

Dr. Donald Perlman on Old Short Hills Road opposite St Barnabas has been my allergist for years. He's a member of almost every medical plan that exists, he's knowledgable and accessible.

Dr. Alex Gnoy in Westfield is the best! He's great with adults and kids.

I have a very serious case of anaphylaxis, and have seen many doctors. Dr. Buchinder on 88th St. in NYC is by far the best. I would recomend her to anyone with life-threatening allergies. If you husband is having any unusual allergic symptoms--swelling of the throat, lips, hives--beyond the typical itchy eyes/nose variety, you should see a specialist. These things can get severe very quickly. Her office # is (212) 410-3246.

Thanks for all the info. Alison, yes my husband does have an anaphylactic reaction to grapes, apples and codeine. Now he seems to be sort of reacting mildly to moderately to things we can't identify. It's getting quite weird, and scary too. So thanks so much.

May not be related, but grapes and apples tend to be higher in pesticide, fungicide residues than many other fruits, apples being the worst.
