I heard on the radio today that Connecticut is reassessing all residential waterfront property in order to raise more revenue. One modest home would see their taxes increase from $11,000 to 26,000 per year.

How modest could a waterfront home be? I doubt you could buy waterfront property in Connecticut -- in Fairfield county, at least -- for less than a million dollars . . .

us2innj, on what radio station did you hear about this? This interests me, since my parents live in CT. I've searched several newspapers, and have found nothing other than a couple of stories about individual towns and their reassessments.

The story ran on WCBS 880 on Monday morning.
