The closest park to you is DeHart park. You enter the park on New England Rd. The park is set behind the houses on that street so you need to look carefully for it. |

No, it's not on New England. New England is up the hill fcrom Ridgewood ... it may be across the street from New England ... anyway, it's very close to Washington Park ... you'll find it!! Great playground. |

It's not DeHart Park... it's Orchard Park on DeHart Rd. |

Correct. From Washington park, turn right onto Ridgewood, go a few blocks, then turn left onto De Hart Road. Park will be on your left about 2/3 of the way down the block. It's a great little park, with tennis courts, too! |

There's also a smaller park (best for under 5s) on Ridgewood Rd, towards South Orange (probably even in South Orange I think) |

The red tube park? I think that's either Walton or Maplewood Avenue on the border of Maplewood/So. Orange. |

About Orchard Playground: I need help. There is no summer rec. dept. program there this year, therefore the bathrooms are never open (in years past, the bathrooms are open when rec. dept. employees are in the park). I called and talked to Roger Brauchli (sp?) last fall and left a message just now, but if more than one voice calls, it will help. He said (last fall) they don't open the bathrooms due to potential vandalism etc, but this is not a teen-attracting park, and with so many little kids, it's disgusting to have them pee in the open, and teaches them that public urination is a-okay. Please call him at 763-4202 and stress that it would only take a trial run to see that leaving at least one bathroom open would not be a problem. Let us know if you call and what reaction you get. Thanks in advance, Alia |
