quote:Jason Kidd agreed to a six-year, $99 million deal to stay with the New Jersey Nets on Friday, rejecting an offer from the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. Since arriving via trade two years ago, the All-Star point guard transformed the Nets from an also-ran into a two-time conference champion. "After great thought and consultation with the important people in my life, I have decided that I want to remain a New Jersey Net," Kidd said.

So Jason will most likely outlast Byron Scott in NJ, sooner or later. I wonder if he also said he'd leave unless they built a new arena. The addition of Alonzo Mourning, if he can stay healthy, is pretty compelling. Does that mean Mutumbo stays or goes? Still on paper, its going to be tough to beat the Lakers. |

yep, two of Oakland's finest, Jason Kidd and Rickey Henderson, now earning their keep in the Garden State...although Rickey takes a limo to Bears Stadium from the city I have heard. As a friend once para-phrased Andy Warhol, "everyone lives in New Jersey for at least fifteen minutes." |

Zona: Not true about Rickey. I saw him heading out of midtown to a game. Driving himself ... Let's Go NETS! Great news about Kidd. I loved the Star-Ledger article that showed what $16+ million a year is a BARGAIN for the Nets ...
