I was also going to recommend the Google beta toolbar. I can't live without it! |

If you don't want to take your chances with a beta, try Popup Stopper, from http://www.panicware.com. It's simple and it works. |

I also like and recommend the Google Toolbar. It's only the beta of the new version that has the popup blocker and that only works for Internet Explorer. |

[I tried to post this before, but something went wrong. Now I suppose I'll end up posting it twice...] Anyway, I really like the Alexa Popup Manager. It doesn't simply kill the popup (or popunder), but gives you the choice of how to handle it. There are some sites where you actually need the popup, and this allows you the choice. |

You should be aware that Alexa contains spyware that tracks your surfing habits. Run Ad-Aware or Spybot and either will recommend removing it. |

Mac folks can use the Apple browser Safari 1.0, which enables the user to prevent pop-ups. |

#9Dream, I'm aware of Alexa's capabilities, and I run SpyBotS&D frequently. I've balanced the tracking (bad) against other features (good) of Alexas, and have decided it let it continue to reside on my machine. OTOH, I have taken advantage of Spybot to prevent other spyware from downloading itself. To those of you who haven't run a spyware check, do so, and you'll be amazed at what you find. |

I use the Opera web browser. It's fantastic for many reasons, one of them being the pop-up stopper built in. It's also faster than IE. It doesn't work with a few web pages, which is no big deal. Check it out at http://www.opera.com Tom Reingold
