NJ Transit is offering a rebate to us because service has been so crappy this month.

Here's an excerpt from the press release.

Partial Rebate
As a result of extensive rail delays during the month of July due to the derailment and other unrelated incidents NJ TRANSIT monthly rail customers will receive a 15 percent refund
check if they mail in their July monthly pass. Customers should mail their July monthly passes to:

NJ Transit, July Refund, P.O.
Box 50051, Newark, NJ, 07105.

Ronzio:

Thanks for the heads up.

By the way, NJT has just announced up to 45 minute delays on the Morris/Essex Line (including Midtown Direct) due to power and switching problems.

“This is a small gesture to let our customers know we appreciate their business and we don’t take it for granted,” said NJ TRANSIT Executive Director George D. Warrington. “We will leave no stone unturned as we work to improve the delivery our emergency response, employee training, customer communications and customer care.”

Yes George, it's a very small gesture. The amount of time you and your incompetent staff wasted out of my life the past two weeks is worth much more than $20.

If you received your July monthly NJT card by mail, or if you get the Quick-tick, you do not need to submit that form. The rebate check will be mailed to you.
