Can anyone recommend a good bicycle repair shop in our area that deals with fairly high-end road/mountain bikes (nothing particularly exotic but the kinds you can't buy at Target)? It would be great if it also sold equipment.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Millburn Bike Shop is definetly high end, but their service is so so if you didn't buy your bike from them. They have great accessories, and lots of attitude. They sell many high end and custom bikes (Like Cervelo and Serotta), but they mainly sell Trek and Cannondale to the masses.

Cycle Palace in Summit is really good for service and they are really friendly, ther sell mainly Fuji and Giant, so not so high end, but they have great with me for any service on my bike.

Bikeland in Chatham is OK, they sell Bianchi, Marin, Colnago, and a few others I don't remember right now.

Cyclecraft in Parrsippany is probably the biggest around and handles Trek, Cannondale, Bianchi, Serotta, and a few other exotics.

Martys in Morristown is rumored by my club to have the best mechanics (but I never used them) I just did a demo ride with them and everyont there (including Marty) was GREAT. They sell Litespeed, Merlin, Specialized, Trek, and my personal favorite, Orbea.

Supposedly the nicest bike shop in Jersey (and some say the northeast) is High gear in Stirling, I've never been there though. They handle all of the high end bikes.

Either way, for service I'd go to Cycle palace of Martys.

I think the best two best in the area are Cyclecraft and High Gear. Both sponsor professional teams, emphasize service, and have great selection. if I had to choose, I'd say Cyclecraft (very service oriented) and very easy to get to--280 west to the Route 46 exit.

Thanks for your suggestions - much appreciated. Once I get the bikes tuned up I'll probably be back to ask whether there are any decent roads around us with minimal traffic to ride a road bike.

Thanks again!
