are stay-at-home moms.

This weekend, my brother, his wife, and their 8-week old twins stayed with us. We figured that it would be a nice change of pace from that little Manhattan apartment. We even had another couple (friends of theirs who just moved to Maplewood) come over for dinner on Saturday night.

I never expected that, with 4 adults & 2 infants (do the math, the adult:child ration looks good on paper), I'd be so exhausted.

From what my sis-in-law tells me, her husband seems to be a typical new father: is very helpful unless he wants to do errands or both babies are crying at once. Then, depending on whose adjectives you use (hers or mine) he is either a little overwhelmed or a useless jerk.

At any rate, I am so happy to be at work this morning, in my nice quiet office, answering really stupid e-mails & responding to my boss' stupid firedrills. No one is wet, hungry or screaming.

I could never be a SAHM; I think I'm too lazy for that job!
