I came home from vacation to find a notice from the NJ Dept of Revenue waiting for me. They "corrected" my Turbo Tax-prepared return, by removing my deduction for property taxes paid!! Anyone heard of this? Their webpage says property taxes are deductible up to $10,000. I have sent them an e-mail raising my issue and requesting an explanation of all changes made, but wanted to know if anyone here has had this happen to them, or otherwise has any advice. Help?!

1-2:

take a good look at the notice, they may not have disallowed the deduction. I have seen many of these notices where that phrase is used but some other reason is actually the cause for the notice. compare line by line to your return.
