I have a job interview Wednesday am at 11am at One State Street Plaza in Manhattan. I can catch a jitney at Elmwood and Lancaster, I believe. Not sure of any of the current schedules. I would like info on how to get to the above address. Thanks |

I'm not sure where State Street Plaza is. If it's at 1 State Street, then you could take the number 1 subway from Penn Station in NYC to the South Ferry stop and walk a short way. Maybe you should ask the prospective employers of the best way to get there. Good luck with your interview! Tom Reingold

I'm not familiar with State Street Plaza either. If it is in the portion of lower Manhattan indicated by Tom, you might find it more convenient to take the train to Hoboken and the Waterway Ferry to Pier A. Hoboken trains run more frequently than Midtown Direct trains and going to Hoboken would eliminate need to manouver through the subway system, which can be daunting to the uninitiated. The entire trip: train to Hoboken, boat to Pier A should only take about an hour. You should definitely check and make sure that the jitney is still running at the time you want to leave for the train station. It only runs during the busiest portion of the rush hour. |

On that note Joan, I have wanted to try taking the Waterway Ferry to Pier A because I work on Wall Street. Do you know where I can find a schedule for the ferry so that I can try and coordinate a Hoboken-bound train? Good luck with your interview Barbara. I work downtown and do not know where State Street Plaza is. I also agree that you should check with the prospective employer about what is the best way to get there and where they are exactly. |

www.nywaterway.com Also check out the service to Pier 11, which is at the foot of Wall Street on the East River.

Barbara, I work at One State Street Plaza. The building is very hard to find if you don't know where you're going. (I actually got lost and was late to my job interview here!) Anyway, the entrance is actually on Whitehall Street between Water and Pearl Streets next to the Au Bon Pain. Best way to get here is to take the Waterway ferry from Hoboken to Pier A and walk across Battery Park. Don't get confused when you see signs for State Street on the north side of the park. That's NOT where the building is located. Walk north one block up state street (keeping the East River on your right) and make a left on Whitehall. You will then be right in front of One State Street Plaza. Good luck! |

HS: Check out the link BobK posted. You will also find Pier A connecting ferry times on the Morris/Essex Train Schedule. The train schedule is available at the train station. |
