I just received something in the mail from the water company about a protection program that costs around $60 a year in the event of a water line break on my property. The scare tactic is that could have to pay thousands of $$ if you don't have this protection. Does anyone know if this is worth it?

It protects a certain area (not sure where they draw the line) of your water line.

I actually signed up for the plan after our neighbor had a leak exiting by his sidewalk. It cost several thousand to fix and he was responsible for all costs. If he had had the protection plan, NJAWC would have foot the bill for part, if not all the costs to repair. To me, it's a $60 insurance policy.
