If they are fall/winter and in good shape amd with decent labels, Renaissance on Ridgewood Road is taking clothes for consignment. Also, The House of Mercy Mission on Springfield Ave in Newark has a thrift shop and takes clothes. |

There is a Goodwill clothing receptacle at the town recycling center. That's probably the quickest way to get rid of them. |

Maplewood Thrift Shop on Springfield Avenue near Indiana, or Salvation Army, also on Springfield further down in Irvington. Get a receipt for Uncle Sam. |

Prospect Presbyterian church is currently accepting clean clothing (and many other items) in good condition for its annual rummage sale. Donations may be brought to the church on weekday mornings or possibly at other times - call the church office at 973-763-2090. August 17th is the last day that donations can be accepted. The sale takes place September 4th-6th. The church is located at the corner of Prospect Street and Tuscan Road in Maplewood. |

My wife took a bunch of things to the Salvation Army on Springfield Av in Irvington. She said it's very close. She came back with some fantastic unexpected bargains, including a big ole desk in great shape, designed to last a hundred years. My daughter came back with a "bull" doll almost as big as she is, and she paid $3 for it. Tom Reingold

I dropped then off at the Our Lady of Sorrows convent, and they seemed very happy to get them. They run a shelter for kids with troubled families. |

Since the Livingston Goodwill has closed, my husband took our last big load down of clothes and other donations to the Goodwill in Kearny. (we prefer Goodwill to Salvation Army). I'm not sure exactly where it is, but he said it was easy to find. (I'm sure there is one in Newark, but he found Kearny more convenient). |

There is also a Red Cross drop box for clothes on Millburn Avenue, near the far end where the two sides come back together. |
