My mother, an involved grandparent, would like to buy a booster seat for her grandkids that could take advantage of the anchor at the top of the back seat in her new Saturn. But we can't find one anywhere (and the folks at the Saturn dealer we clueless.) We've checked out all the standard places, Zany Brainy, Kids/Toys R Us, Sears... Anyone have other ideas? Thanks, finnegan |

I know Eddie Bauer has one (I just picked it up for my sister), even has a cup holder. I think it's pricey though |

Sorry, I should have been more explicit. We're seeking a booster seat (40-80 lbs. rating) that would hook BOTH into the anchors in her car that are in between the seat and its back ((where the seat belts come out) AS WELL AS anchoring to the latch at the top of the seat. And thanks for the Eddie Bauer cite, Brent, I checked out their web site and they do have such a seat - but your warning was right - $249!!! Yikes! Anyone know of any others? Thanks again, Finnegan |

We just bought the new Britax Wizard. It was a little over $200 but it's the only car seat that is side impact rated. |

Do they have cup holders? Think of the children! |

Boosters NEVER anchor to the seats whether your car has LATCH or not. Boosters are only designed to position the cars seatbelt correctly on the childs body allowing the cars seatbelt to do all of the restraining in a crash. It is IMPERATIVE that you use the booster this way if your child exceeds the usual 40 pound rating. The internal harness that comes with most (and that ismost, but not all) convertable boosters (those are seats that are forward facing car seats that can change in to belt positioning booster seats when the child is big enough) will not sufficiently restrain a child weighing over 40 pounds. Misuse of boosters is one of the most prevalent forms of child restraint misuse in the country. By the way, I'm a NHTSA certfied child passenger safety technician... so I do know what I'm talking about. |
