We are moving to South Orange next month and need to put up a fence for our dog. Does anyone know where I can learn of the Village regulations, and if there are any? Thanks. |

Call Village Hall at 973-378-7720, asked for engineering department. There are definitely regs. Happened to call there yesterday for a fence question when contractors for about-to-be-new neighbors were putting up a white plastic (vinyl?) fence across a portion of my backyard. I was told that fence can be 6 feet tall (that was why I called) and that these white things are often being sold in place of treated wood. Strange to look into what used to seem bigger (since you just saw through chain link fence into neighbors grass) and suddenly have giant white barrier there. Now we have to landscape in front of it to hide their fence! And welcome to SO! |
