OK, it's August and it's been hot, muggy and generally unbearable . . . Nevertheless, anyone have heating oil prices locked in for the coming season? How much and from who? |

Woolley $1.34 closing August 8th. There might be lower prices offered by others, but the quality service they provide is something we value. In years past, if the spot price fell below the lock-in price, your delivery would be recalculated at the lower rate. That surprised me, since the pre pay plan guarantees your "set" price. They have since done away with the lower spot price reduction. Too bad, that was a nice perk. |

Woolley is still offering $1.34 lock-in. Mitchell offers $1.29 (prepaid) or $1.39 lock-in. |

I just called Petro and they said we could have a cap of $1.20 this year and that we will be charged the prevailing price if it should drop below that number. |

Don't forget to check out the 'maintenance fee' that each of them charge. That often times make an otherwise good per gallon price become not so good. We're just starting so I can't offer any specific insight to these other than to be aware of them.

Good point. $20 - $25 seems the going rate to set up an account. |
