Anybody have a suggestion on where we can get a big and delicious birthday cake? The bakery that used to be a Maplewood favorite is now closed... Thanks.

Whole Foods makes great cakes.

Also, there's a wholesale bakery on Springfield Ave. called "Foood" (I think it stands for Food of our own design) that sells to the public. Their cakes are wonderful. It's at 1988 Springfield.

I think Costco's cakes are hugh, delicious, and cheap.

Also, search through the Please Help archives. This has been asked a bunch of times recently.

We just got a cake at Cait and Abbey's and it was actually pretty reasonable and delicious. I tried to order the cake at Costco but you have to go there to order it. Two trips to costco for one cake seemed a bit much.

second the motion for Cait and Abbey's! Got two different cakes for recents parties, both fresh and delish.. and so easy to get to!
but love the idea of the wholesale bakery too...

Go to the bakery in the Millburn Mall between Sams and Drugfair. Their cakes are handmade and awesome!! I forgot the name of the place.

Sonny Amster's/Wigler's is in the Millburn Mall. One is the "new" name and one is the old, but those of us who grew up here know what you mean either way.

I give a thumbs up to both Cait & Abby's and Sonny Amster's.

CostCo bakes a few different cakes that are GREAT tasting, and not too much $$$ on your wallet!
Order a week or so in advance if you want it personalized! They always have generic sheet cakes there in their bakery dept...
