Has anyone else out there become hooked on the HBO show - Real Time with Bill Maher?

I find it to be a hilarious combination of the Leno/Letterman monologues and the Sunday Morning talk shows, with the freedom of all language that HBO brings.

While some people may find it a bit too strong, I thing the humor is so incredibly timely and brutally honest.

They also manage to have relevant guests to current events...like Gray Davis a couple weeks ago, and Al Franken & Wesley Clark this past week.

If you haven't seen it check it out. I'm surprised I haven't heard much "buzz" about this show (like you do with the Sopranos & Sex and the City). Anyone else?

mayhew - I LOVE the show, but of course, I have liberal tendencies, which may explain my preference. as it is an intelligent, articulate viewpoint from the left, it should get more buzz than it does. though it should be noted that Maher has moved from a Comedy Central (less watched, at that time) forum, where I began watching him in 1994, to a Big Three forum though at an absurdly late hour (wasn't it 1:30 am or something) to this - a more mainstream venue and timeslot, considering HBO's leadership among both Big and Cable Networks in the past few years. So there is an evolution here. People are watching, they just aren't talking about it much -- except when Maher says something some people find so offensive to their agendas that they feel compelled to label it unpatriotic and anti-American to try to minimize credibility. this is one reason I like him: his attitude is not "America: love it or leave it" it is "America: love it or change it" which I wholly agree is a much more patriotic and meaningful approach.

I used to watch Dennis Miller more (he used to be ON more), but have found that in the very recent past, he seems to have gone kind of conservative on issues that are important to me.

Funny though, it has a liberal bent sure because of Maher, but the conservatives guests are allowed to look good, too. (Unlike the liberals on O'Reily, for example). Bob Barr was on one time I watched, and he actually came across as very likeable.
