It is the year 3003. All of the major problems faced by humankind in our time have long since been solved but other problems have emerged. A gifted anthropoligist concludes that the answer to these new problems can best be found in the past. The site of a major 2003 settlement referred to in obscure tests as SO/M is located and a dig organized. The objects found are numerous but totally incomprehensible to those working at the site. Still, the objects are identified to the best of the anthropologist's ability and a brief description of each object's probable use is given.
Assume that you are a time traveller from the SO/M site who has travelled forward in time and offered to help identify these mysterious objects and their uses.
1. What is the 2003 name for an object you are examining?
2. What name has been given to the object by the anthropologist?
3. What did the anthropologist record as the probable use of the object?
Extra credit question: What problem encountered by humankind can be reduced and/or resolved as a result of using this object and how? |

1) 2003 Red Sox World Series Championship Banner from Prospect Street
2) "Wow, check this relic out... it's the from the last time the Red Sox won the World Series"
3) Probable use: This was probably used to wipe the tears from the long-suffering. |
