Anyone have experience with local taxi companies that will do a pickup at the train station for just a very short ride home? In cases when we're getting home late, it would be good to have a name of someone who is reliable and will do short runs like this.

Any recommendations out there on who to use/who not to use?
Thanks!

United Livery,
Maplewood # 973-762-5700
South Orange # 973-763-0008
I've used them for a trip to West Orange during the day and they were pretty good. Don't know how late they are open.

A-plus has a sign at the station in Maplewood
973-275-0660
I think they are 24 hours. I called them once about getting picked up after midnight in S. Orange and they said no problem (but to call as early as I could when I had an exact pick up time) but then I didn't need a ride and so I haven't actually used them.

A-Plus is great! we've used them at all hours and never had a problem. and i think they are cheaper than Maplewood Taxi which shuts down exactly at 10:00 PM even if you are on the train that comes into Maplewood at 10:02!

We ended up using Union Taxi which is 24 hours, but they charged $11. If we needed them before 10 p.m. we would have used Maplewood Taxi who said it would be about $6. I'll give A-Plus a call to see what they would charge. It's always good to have alternatives. Thanks!
