In order to get some good advice you should give a price range. These cameras can go from $100-$2000. Also the tech capability of the user some are extreamly easy (point and shoot) and some can become quite complex.

One of the best sites I found is www.dpreview.com They have in depth reviews and a great forum for many discussions. You can ask questions and get frank answers. I used it extensively before I bought my digicam. |

Get the Cannon Elph. We have the PowerShot 230. It takes great shots and printed with the home HP printer at 8x11 you can't tell the different btw it and a regular film camera. We also get film prints from ClubPhoto.com and they come out fine without any tweaking. |

We got our daughter a Nikon Coolpix about a year ago. She likes it so much that when her brother wanted a digital camera, she recommended that we get him the current model. (Which I think is 3.2 megapixels, vs. last year's 2.1.) Major features are ease of use and small size. We were travelling with friends who had a very high-end digital camera that saved pictures directly onto CDs, and had interchangeable lenses. But it was also huge. |

I have an Olympus D-380 which I take everywhere with me. It was pretty cheap ($180) and the pictures are starting to get blurry on me. What I do love about it is that it takes AA batteries. I am going to upgrade at Christmas and want to find a better camera that takess regular batteries and maybe has manual focus ... any suggestions? |
