I'm sinking under the weight of broken and/or unused machinery--a dead computer, 2 broken camcorders, a (potentially) functional cellphone, old cameras. Is there anywhere besides the Meadowlands to send this stuff? An address in Nicaragua, a battered woman's shelter in search of phones, an art studio? Any ideas would be helpful. |

I collect old electronics and try to fix or use the parts for something else. Its a hobby of mine. I would be happy to take the stuff off your hands. Private line me if your interested. Otherwise you can ebay the items or donate them to the Salvation army. |

If you put it out on the curb on bulk pickup day, it is quite likely that someone who can (or thinks they can) use it will pick it up before the disposal guys get to it. |

The phone can be dropped off at Radio Shack to be donated to a battered womens program. Google will find you other places that will take the phones for this program. |

You can bring it to the recycling center (formerly known as "the dump") on Boyden. According to the recycling brochure, you can bring: quote:COMPUTERS AND ELECTRONICS - Monitors, computers, keyboards, printers, servers, mainframes, laptops, peripherals, computer wire, VCRs, televisions, stereos, radios. Leave in designated area.
I'm sure they try to sell most of it through a salvage company rather than just landfill it. |
