Can anyone tell me what is the best train car to be on (on the 7:11 am train) to get myself closest to the entrance to the 1239 uptown at Penn Station? Front? Back? Middle? It seems like I take a different and longer walk every morning from the train to the subway. |

My guess is the front car which lets you off closest to Seventh Avenue. If you walk to the seventh ave end of the platform and go up the new staircase to the new NJT lobby and then turn left (I think) you are closest to LIRR and 1239 |

Front car, then up to the new 7th Ave concourse. The 7:11 is usually on track 1 or 2 so you go straight out past all the other tracks and down the short flight of steps right after track 9/10 then past track 11/12 and make a right down the corridor to the entrance to what we used to call the 7th Avenue IRT. I'll see you there. |
