I came home this evening to see that my neighbors had put bulk collection items at the curb. Was there a mailing that somehow didn't make it to my home?

Fortunately, we didn't have all that much to put out, but it certainly would have been a major hassle if we did, and had to scramble at the last minute.

Did any of you get the typical zone by zone schedule in the mail?

Thanks.

Thanks 1-2.... Town Hall said that they will no longer be sending out schedules for bulk pick-up. They said it will be printed in the quarterly Maplewood newsletter. I don't even know if we got that.

Anyone know what will happen with area 4, given the storm? Will they still be picking up tomorrow morning?

As you know, they came. We hauled half a garage-full of trash. We had recently ripped the carpets and curtains from our house, since we bought it recently. Our curbside looked like a junkyard. We were unsure if they'd come, and we were unsure if they'd take it all. They took it all, rather graciously. My wife stood by the truck and got into pleasant conversation with one of the guys.

Hauling it out was an adventure, because we did it from like 10:30 to 11:30 last night, and in the process, the rain started to fall heavily. So there we were, hauling out huge heavy stuff in the driving rain. Rather comical, really.

It always rains on Big Trash Night -- it's a tradition!

We were the only people on our block to put out anything (highly unusual) and we only put out a couple of things early this morning that we really wanted to get rid of (but that wouldn't have been that great a chore to bring back in if they didn't show.) If it hadn't been for the weather, I know we would have had a pile of other stuff out there also.

However, we (area 4) aren't the section for which it traditionally rains. In the ten years I've lived in this house I don't recall many (if any) rainy bulk trash days before this one. I think that it is the area near Maplewood Avenue that holds that distinction.
