So far we have looked in many of the stores in Red Bank, but have not found one that we like. Any other suggestions? |

There are also several antique and 2nd hand shops in Somerville, on Main Street and each of the side streets towards the train station. Had luck there several times! Pete |

Richard Roberts sometimes has antiques, and if they don't have anyhing, chatting with Rick might help point you in the right directon. There's a pretty good-sized antique store in Summit. I think it's on Summit's Springfield Ave., which is parallel to Broad Street. I could be wrong about the location, though. |

Jem, there is a nice antique shop on Morris Avenue across from the SAGE Thrift Shop (which is a 'high end' thrift shop). The address of SAGE is 478 Morris Ave (just past Broad Street). The antique store that I am thinking of is just past there, on the right hand side. Good luck jab, and happy hunting, jml |

Try the Antique stores in Montclair too. One is a block off the main street (Bloomfield Ave.0, on a corner spot... We got a nice lamp there and the woman who owns the store is super nice, and is always getting new things in from Estate sales. She's beautiful, like she might have modeled when she was younger. She is sitting in this old chair always, like shes the Queen.... |

There are a number of nice antique shops in Clinton, but probably are on the expensive side. Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn (by Cobble Hill) used to have many shops with old golden oak and other wooden furniture. It's a bit of a drive, but there are some good restaurants there and looking at the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower is always fun! |

Don't forget to check out estate sales in the area. They're usually listed in the back of the News-Record. Most start on Fridays. Not always cheap but you can find some nice things. |

Some people have had success at Lincoln Galleries in Orange. They schedule monthly auctions of furniture and other antiques. They have a website at this link. |

Try Lafayette Village - 80 West to 15 North - a much scaled down version of New Hope (even has a stream running through it). It 's off the beaten track in comparison, so the antiques are less expensive. I found a green wedgewood ashtray for $15, had it kindly evaluated by Richard Roberts at $125 - $150. There's nothing like being in a BAR!

Mem- Do you go to the Lafayette Mill Market? When I was a kid I knew my way through it by heart because my parents took us there regularly. We used to get to pick out a snack at the grocery store next to it on rare occasions. |

I only had enough time to stop at the antiques stores that were on or near the intersection. Where is the Mill Market? There's nothing like being in a BAR!

My cow-orker is also an antique dealer. Would you like me to ask her? Tom Reingold

jab--try Chester, or Long Valley. 78 West to exit 24. You drive for about fifteen minutes, and will hit a ton of antique stores. |
