Maplewood Dry Cleaners was purchased by a man who has all the personality of a wet dog. I was somewhat disappointed my first trip there after he took over, since I really liked the place & had been using them for years.

I had dropped off a red silk shirt with a huge, black stain on it. I told him that I realized it might not come out, but to try the best he could, since it was unwearable anyway. When I picked it up, the stain hadn't come out. I asked him to try again & he was resistent, because "the color might fade". I convinced him to try anyway, since I was just going to throw the shirt out. I left thinking that after I picked up the shirt, I'd find another cleaner. Who wants to debate, especially when I'm willing to accept risk?

Well, I take it back. I picked up the shirt & there is no stain. It went from a black spot the size of a half dollar to a slight fade the size of half a baby aspirin. He may have no personality, but he rocks as a cleaner.

I won't be inviting the guy to any parties, but he can keep my business.

The personality of a wet dog? He must be a retired doctor pursuing his second career.
