Dana, we pay $50 per hour for elementary school level tutoring. The tutor is a very experienced elementary teacher in the district. She spends an hour with our 2nd grader each week and works on writing and spelling exclusively. She also usually sets a writing exercise (short story composition) or dictation exercise to correct to work on during the week. $50 per hour seems reasonable given that she is a very experienced teacher who knows the inadequacies of our language arts curriculum inside out and does a great job of challenging our kid to do higher level work. Feel free to private line me. |

I found Kate here on MOL. She graduated from Columbia High School and recently graduated from College, with a teaching degree. She tutors my daughter every week, at the rate of $50/hour. So far, so good. Email me at noglider@pobox.com if you want information. Or you might find her ad in the free classifieds section. Tom Reingold There is nothing
