Perhaps you'd like to read what a school psychologist has to say about "sensory integration" as you await OT recommendations. http://www.nasponline.org/publications/cq312si.html

Sheila Allen at Pediatric Therapeutics definitely works with a sensory integration diagnosis. Laurie Kalb at Pediatric Potentials in Livingston also offers many of the same types of work with children who exhibit symptoms identified with sensory integration dysfunction. Be prepared to go on a waiting list at either one of these places. There's also an awful lot you can do at home (providing opportunities for feedback through brushing, jumping, mini-tramp, balance exercises) and lots of information in books and on the web. |
