Took mine out yesterday. I usually use this as an indicator, whenever it becomes cool enough to turn the heat on, its time for the AC's to come out.

Given our crazy weather patterns of late, I think I'll just keep mine in the window until I see the first snowflake.

Depends. How many years has it been in there?

Yep, had the heat on last night. I said no but the Mrs. said yes. I held my ground but like I said, the heat was on last night.

Wow I had the windows open and the fan on last night.

Obviously, the decision of when to take the A/C units out (and turn the heat on!) is a very personal one!

Once we decide the important issue of ac removal, can someone let me know if it's time to bring the houseplants in yet?

The windows open and the fan on? wnb, were you at the St. James Gate before retiring last night?

I wish! (as an aside, we went there on my birthday and I was very impressed -- kudos to the owners, only thing is they really need to get Caffrey's on tap to achieve perfection).

Had the windows open last night too... no fan though. Have a nice thick comforter for the middle of the night. For me this is great sleeping weather. I really just like open windows and it takes a lot (hot hot or cold cold) to get me to close them.

That said, this is definitely a tricky year for deciding on when to haul the units in. As a general rule, I follow a zen approach to this -- "practice doing nothing" and the right time will present itself. This works well for putting them in as well. Usually a day just arrives and it is immediately apparant it is the right time to do it.

Zen and the a/c removal. I like it.

If your ac falls out the window and no one hears it, does it make a sound?
