Does anyone know the name of the organization that accepts old cell phones to reprogram for emergency use?

Go to Google and search battered women + cell phones.

Also, Radio Shack will take them and donate them to the program.

If you commute through Penn Station, there's a cell phone collection bin set up in the new NJT concourse -- I think the phones are earmarked for US troops, presumably those stationed abroad.

www.collectivegood.com suggests a variety of charities that will be happy to take your old phone. And they send a tax receipt & thank-you note!
