I know there have been earlier threads on Lasik, but has anyone had any experience with "Diamond Vision"?

Apparently they have an office in Paramus and it is one of the only places in NJ that participates in the discount program offered by either my employer or my spouse's employer.

Any feedback, pro or con would be appreciated?

Thanks!

I have no experience with either. There's a new technique about to be approved here and already in use in Europe from Staar Surgical where they implant a lens behind the iris. This seems to work well and, as opposed to Lasik et al, it's reversible.

mayhew: I strongly suggest that, for something as critical as your eyes, you steer away from discount incentives.

I went to a friend to do mine, in part because he offered "friends and family" pricing. In the end, I was happy, but I did have some problems - and it was TERRIFYING having those problems, because, you know, you rely on your eyes like crazy. I ended up having it done twice, and had to wear glasses (!) in between. For this trouble, and terror, I would gladly have spent what I saved to avoid it.

Joseph Dello Russo is the most experienced Lasik surgeon in this area. My opinion at the end of the day: go to someone with a ton of experience, and who has all background equipment (including equipment to take all measurements s/he'll need to do your surgery) right in his/her office. good luck.

A friend had this done. Her brother is a ENT surgen and helped her find the best surgen in the NYC area.

Had the right eye done, Bang. A one in a million thing developed and now she is blind in that eye and it can never be fixed. She has one so, so eye and is now myoptic and has no depth perception. Keeps getting into rear end bumber benders. Why, Duhh, the one eye thing.

Me, I'm keeping the glasses. I always wonder. Ever couple of years I have to have my RX changed on the glasses. How do they do that with the laser job?

My dear friend and her husband had it done a few years back when they were in their late 30's. Now they are in their early 40's and guess what? They need reading glasses!

I wear contacts. The eye doctor is "undercorrecting" one of my near-sighted eyes so that I can read comfortably while wearing my lenses. But at the end of the day - literally - I am thrilled to death to take out my contacts and read a book in bed without reading glasses!
