There may have been something on this here already, but I just registered and don't know. What is going into the lot across SO Ave from Bunny's? I know a building was torn down and I was just wondering what was up with it.

Welcome Psoh...

To answer your question, I believe they are presently building the underground garage there now. When they finish, they will start construction above ground where you will be able to actually see them working.

Maybe I can save you some time by checking the back threads on all the details. I heard they are going to build an 18 story apartment building there with a KFC and a Barnes and Nobels on the ground floor....

If you're interested in investing in the project I have some extra shares of stock I can sell you. Just send me a private line message, and I'll get back to you.

Best wishes here on MOL, hopefully you will find it both informative and a lot of fun...

Wow Art, I didn't know any of that! When they're done it would be a great spot to put a big cell tower.

psoh,

Welcome to MOL.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), the post from ajc is as much fiction as the "Coming Soon" sign in the Vilage Market.

The real story is that the plans for the new Beifus development were approved almost 1 year ago by the Planning Board, the existing building was demolished the day before the last municipal election in May and the developer is now currently "in negotiations" for a tax abatement. The latest we have heard is that construction MAY start this Spring.

The current development is supposed to contain ground floor retail space & a 5 story apt building above it. As to what form those retail stores take is anyone's guess. I just hope it won't be more nail salons, dry cleaners or beauty supply stores.

Yeah, I haven't been holding my breath on that "Coming Soon" sign in the Village Market for three years now. I remember soon after I got here I read the sign in the window and it was already a year old. It was just the first of many things that have shown me this town is a joke for the most part.
