My 7 year old received a starter microscope set for her last birthday and would like to make some of her own slides. There are directions with the set but the dyes are not included. Does anyone know where to purchase same, preferably in small quantity? We know the set was purchased at ToysRUs and you can already guess they don't feature any additional supplies there. We checked at Maplewood Hobby but they had nothing to offer and no suggestions. I no longer work at a hospital but even when I did I had no ties to the lab. Any biology types out there have suggestions? Thanks in advance. Cathy |

Try iodine for staining...easy to find, easy to use. |

In a pinch - check the aquarium section of your pet store. Methylene blue is also used as a fungacide for fish. |
