As children of the 80s, my wife and I always get sucked into watching that show. ("Resistence is futile," as 'hugh' might say.) The producers have done a swell job of picking just the right things to profile, and the commentators are excellent. There are times, however, when we have to wonder whether the commentator was actually old enough to have experienced the item he/she is talking about. |

Yeah, it kind of takes away the credibility when someone like Ashanti talks about 1980 as if she lived it. Was she even born yet? I loved the first I Love the 80's. This one is OK, too. I always shriek with delight when I am surprised by something they show, like how big Jelly shoes were. I loved those darn things!!! Or like how they talked about New Coke. One night we stayed up until 3AM watching it and cracking up. |

It's a good idea, I caught a couple of episodes, but lost interest because it's way too breeezy and jerkily edited. they spend exactly 1.27 minutes on each subject. Yes, fun for a bit, but soon found all the jittery jumping around annoying. |

My wife and I continue to catch episodes now and then. Best line I've heard so far: "The fish smell doesn't bother me." (1984) Fondest memory: The Trapper Keeper. (I've since upgraded to a Franklin Day Planner.) Most unexpected commentator: Chris Jericho of the WWE. Most inappropriate commentator(s): The Hanson brothers.

I loved the Trapper Keeper. I loved back to school shopping and getting a new Trapper Keeper. I always had such big plans of staying organized and a notebook for every subject -- a week into the year all hope was lost. |

What channel is this show on? I've never heard of it, but then, I don't watch that much TV. Reading some of these posts takes me back to my daughter's 80's days. She was born in '81 and let me tell you, come September, Trapper Keepers were KING. (Sorry Sbenois). And Jellies. Ahh, don't get me started. I love the 80's too. Thanks for any info on this intersting-sounding show. |
